  3. Release Note
  4. ------------
  5. This release fixes the bug that aria2 wrongly determines that
  6. specified share ratio is reached because of miscalculation of upload
  7. bytes and the bug that upload limit exceeds the value specified in
  8. --seed-ratio option depending on the timing of the execution of
  9. SeedCheckCommand.
  10. Changes
  11. -------
  12. * Updated README
  13. * Fixed the bug that upload limit exceeds the value specified in
  14. --seed-ratio option depending on the timing of the execution of
  15. SeedCheckCommand.
  16. * Fixed the bug that removed peer's session upload/download length are
  17. counted twice in _cachedTransferStat before it is re-calculated.
  18. This affected the calculation of shara ratio, resulting aria2
  19. wrongly determines that specified share ratio is reached.

  22. Release Note
  23. ------------
  24. This release adds the ability to specify the output filenames in
  25. BitTorrent downloads and the option to limit overall download speed
  26. and dry run mode which just checks the availability of the remote
  27. file. -i list option can now take new options: select-file and
  28. index-out. The default behavior of sending HTTP Authorization header
  29. is reverted back to version 1.1.2 style. The bug in
  30. AdaptiveURISelector was fixed. You can now seed read-only files in
  31. BitTorrent. --file-allocation option can take new parameter
  32. 'falloc'. If it is given and you are using newer file systems such as
  33. ext4, btrfs or xfs, large(few GiB) files are allocated almost
  34. instantly. The performance optimization has been done and aria2 runs
  35. more efficiently.
  36. Indonesian, Russian, Italian, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese,
  37. Spanish and Norwegian Nynorsk translations were updated.
  38. Changes
  39. -------
  40. * Added 'falloc' parameter for --file-allocation option. 'falloc'
  41. allocation mode uses posix_fallocate() system call to allocate file
  42. on disk. If you are using newer file systems such as ext4 (with
  43. extents support), btrfs or xfs, 'falloc' is your best choice. It
  44. allocates large(few GiB) files almost instantly. Don't use 'falloc'
  45. with legacy file systems such as ext3 because it takes almost same
  46. time as 'prealloc' and it blocks aria2 entirely until allocation
  47. finishes. 'falloc' may not be available if your system doesn't have
  48. posix_fallocate() system call.
  49. * Added --bt-tracker-interval option to specify the interval between
  50. tracker requests. If non-zero value is specified, aria2 uses it and
  51. ignores the interval value in the response of tracker. If zero is
  52. specified, aria2 determines the inteval value based on the tarcker
  53. response and download progress.
  54. * Reduced CPU usage in RarestPieceSelector.
  55. * Reduced CPU usage when hitting download limit/upload limit.
  56. * Changed the default value of --uri-selector option from 'inorder' to
  57. 'feedback'
  58. * Included current URI in exception message.
  59. * Fixed the bug that AdaptiveURISelector doesn't select any URI when
  60. all URIs are tested and their timeout is not reached.
  61. * Reuse URIs when all unused URIs run out.
  62. * Removed --direct-file-mapping option and CopyDiskAdaptor.
  63. * Added --dry-run option. In this mode, aria2 just checks whether
  64. the remote file is available and doesn't download data. This
  65. option has effect on HTTP/FTP downloads and BitTorrent downloads
  66. are canceled in this mode.
  67. * Parse options in -i list using OptionParser.
  68. * Don't reset URI in retry to avoid additional round trips because
  69. of redirects.
  70. * Added --index-out option to specify each file path for torrent. The
  71. index shown in --show-files option is used to specify which file
  72. path should be altered. For example, to change the file path with
  73. index=2, use --index-out=2=aria2.tar.bz2. You can use this option
  74. multiple times: --index-out=1=aria2.tar.bz2
  75. --index-out=2=aria2-opt.tar.bz2. The short hand form -O is also
  76. available. This option can be specified in -i list.
  77. * Added --max-overall-download-limit option. Now --max-upload-limit
  78. option is not ignored when --max-overall-upload-limit option has
  79. non-zero value. aria2 checks download(upload) speed in the order:
  80. first checks overall speed limit and if it is not exceeded, then
  81. checks speed limit per download. Thus you can specify both
  82. value. For example, set --max-overall-download-limit=1M and
  83. --max-download-limit=500K to prevent from one download from eating
  84. all overall speed limit.
  85. * Now select-file can be specified in the uri list(-i list).
  86. * Made the upper value of --max-concurrent-downloads options unlimited.
  87. * Fixed the bug that disk writer is not created even if it shares same
  88. piece with the preceding file if the length of previous file is 0.
  89. * In BitTorrent, Open files in read-only mode for hash check. After
  90. that, re-open file in read/write mode only when the download is
  91. not finished.
  92. * Added --http-auth-challenge option. If it is set to true, aria2
  93. sends HTTP authorization header only when it is requested by the
  94. server. If false is set, then authorization header is always sent to
  95. the server. This is useful for servers that don't respond 401 code
  96. when authentication is required. There is an exception: if username
  97. and password are embedded in URI, authorization header is always
  98. sent to the server regardless of this option. The default value of
  99. this option is false.
